Outside connections for each chapter:
Chapters 1-8
-Arnold reminds me of Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid because he expresses his feelings through comics.
-The Andruss triplets remind me of Crabe and Goyle from Harry Potter because they are all idiotic and bully others.
-The white teachers at Arnold's rez school remind me of the white Austrailians and the Aborigines.
-Rowdy reminds me of Holden Caulfield because they're both emotionally unstable and lash out at everyone including their friends.
Chapters 8-15
Chapters 15-23
Chapters 23-26 (AJ)
-When Junior says that his family was being punished, but he was healthy and alive (Pg. 173), reminds me of Finnick from The Hunger Games. In this book, The Capitol wanted to punish Finnick, but they couldn't go after him, because he was a national celebrity. Therefore, they went after the girl he was in love with instead, which hurt him even more.
-Junior fearing that rowdy's father would beat him (Pg. 196), just because he lost the basketball game, is similar to Smoke Signals. Victor's father would also beat him for silly things like spilling a beer.
-Junior getting onto the varsity basketball team as a freshman and being told he could be an all-state player in a few years (Pg. 180), reminds me of when I got my first callback. I have never expected to and it was quite crazy and overwhelming, as was Junior's experience.
